Found: Wet Dog || Rocky Hill, CT.

I decided to start playing with some borders. This is Spooky, my friend's dog, after a summertime bath.

Old City

Found: Old Skyscrapers || NYC.

I think New York is slowly but steadily losing it's glamor, becoming a sort of vintage city. Old buildings, crowded and cramped spaces are really no match for the amenities of new modern cities in the Middle East and Asia - Dubai and Shanghai come to mind. Maybe it's just me...

Ditty

Frame of Mind || Leaving Cambridge

Chirping.Birds.Birds? I remember I usually get woken up by ambulance sirens, and I get the queasy feeling that my landlord is taking me for a ride. In the common room, Eugene forgot the lights on. Or not. It's just a rogue ray of sun that found it's way through the clouds, past trees and Victorian houses only to bounce off the white door of the pantry into my eyes. It lasts for only an instant. I make a quick exit and pass a delivery van as head up the street to my car. Tires follow me on the wet pavement. Slowly. Deliberately. This guy is either the worst kidnapper in history or he's just looking for parking. Since this is Cambridge and not Mexico City, it's the latter.

My car's underpowered 125 horses roar and I slide into the surprisingly empty Mass. Ave. The surprise is gone once I get around the bend and I have to cut the guy on my left to avoid a Coke truck delivering syrup in Central Square. Four lines of cars queue up on 2 lanes of road. I can almost smell, through 2 panes of tempered glass, the aftershave of the guy in the car next two me. I turn my head and he mouths "Go tuck yourself" (in?) . He makes no sense. And the traffic gets moving once again.

I make a left on Western Ave, past a row of crimson flags and I blow through a cleverly hidden stop sign. No harm. No foul. No cops. Shortly, after giving a Wendy's Chicken sandwich to the tool guy - or rather the equivalent in U.S. currency - I weave my way through I-90's three lanes and pass underneath of what it must be a sound-proofing engineering marvel - the Washington St. Sheraton.

And so it goes...

Guppy

Found: Shark Diving || Bahamas, WI.

Sharks have an electromagnetic sensor in their noses that helps navigate, so when our chain-link-armor-clad dive master rubbed their noses they went in a trance. However, once he stopped rubbing they got the munchies - and we got the out of there.

The Dark Forest

Found: The path less traveled || Arcadia National Park, Maine.

As you embark upon this journey called life, keep this in mind: 'The path less traveled, is less traveled for a reason.'

Taken one late summer night. Thought it captures nicely the rush of the city.

13.1M

Found: My stamina || Simsbury, CT

Cristian and I after finishing the Iron Horse half marathon. My time was 2:02 (9:18/mile pace), which (I'm told) is not bad. Of course, my buddy Mike (not pictured) finished in around 1:30, 6th overall, so there is a lot of room for improvement.

Why walk?

Found: The long road home || Montreal, Canada.

Of course, the road is even longer when you can't afford the $6/gallon Canadian gas and all you have is a bike. Taken on a peer near the Molson brewery.

Death

Found: Twisted Trunk || Hamden, CT.

I went hiking today through the Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden CT. On the quary path (blue trail) you can find many interesting trees, some twisted out of shape by nature, some by man.

Green Blur

Found: Zip Lining || Jamaica, WI

There are few times when a video - in this case due to circumstances - is able to capture more than a photo. This is one of them. Zip-lining at speeds reaching 25mph through a span of over 1000ft, 400ft off the ground. Bonus: Explicit language and screaming are included.

80' Below

Found: Deep home || Montego Bay, Jamaica

Snapped this one during the Window Maker Cave dive just off the Montego Bay airport. This coral, almost 24 inches in diameter, is on the reef surrounding the tunnel, 5 feet below my camera's maximum depth rating. I got lucky and my kit survived.

Dry County

Found: Vanished lake || Wyoming, USA.

On a hike through Yellowstone's miles of trails, we came up to a bone dry lakebed. This was in the spring, before any potential scorching heat/dry spells. I'm not a global warming fanatic, but this is food for thought.

Purple Haze

Found: Total lunar eclipse || Bucharest, Romania.

I had to dig around to retrieve this photo from a dying hard drive of my ancient PC. It was intended to be a series, but I can't find the negatives.

A Man's Dream

Found: The top shelf at the Heineken Brewery || Amsterdam, Holland.

35mm scan from positive film. I love the contrast and intensity given by slides, but I don't like the challenges presented by storing and organizing them - which is too bad since I still have a few rolls laying around.
